Everyone else at the park to check out the lake too? LOL. You'd think that the park would be deserted during a nasty storm.

Good luck guys/gals! Lived in Florida for 16 years so after you live through a few it becomes a cake walk.

Just windy here, not a huge amount of rain.

They rarely even bother me anymore, even living in MD I am used to crazy weather patterns. It is a bit different this year as this is the first nasty storm in the house so I am looking to make sure nothing is leaking, broken etc and I am watching the trees like a hawk. Also the houses in Florida are built to withstand the force of a storm compared to the ones in the areas up here.

Hope everyone is staying safe.

man.. its gettin NASTY off of Lake Erie.. here is the Lake in Cleveland... tthis is a live feed... we NEVER see waves like this...

I'm just outside Wheeling, WV, and its done almost nothing but rain last 2 days. Stops here and there, but not for long. Not real windy, and not a large amount of rain. Just pretty steady.

Steady heavy rain and alot of wind here. Had the kids sleep in the basement guest room since we are surrounded by massive oak trees. Power has flickered 6-7 times but has held on......surprising considering the wind.

yea, its gettin pretty bad up here.. been without power for the last hour now.. and they say the worst has yet to come...

It is lightly snowing outside now

It moved some leaves out of my front lawn, that's all we got here in Syracuse, NY. Max gust was 40mph at the airport, got less than an inch of rain. Power was on all night long, on a side note..... Snow is in the forecast finally for weeks end, WOO HOO!

We hardly got wind except for a few big gusts... But we did get a whole lot of rain.... Here is the river just down the block... Normally it is 20 or so ft below where it is now...

Apparently the winds/floods triggered fires. Burnt TBSS makes me sad :(

I live right down the road from the Little Patuxent River here in Maryland. Took a picture back in July and decided to go out today and take a picture for comparison:

Hey everyone,

Still no power since Monday afternoon and they're saying they'll have it on in 7-12 days...thank god for the generator, too bad getting gas is impossible, the gas stations that have power have 8 hour lines or no gas, a buddy of mine took a trip to reading to fill up our gas cans.

It's been rediculous around here, how is everyone else doing?

Glad you are ok. in Northern VA only about 1/8 of the power went out, it just took a couple days to get back on.

News reports look like they are working to get power back on, the flew some military gas tankers in to make sure the utility trucks have gas to fix the power so they can pump gas into commercial gas distribution tanker trucks to resupply everyone else.

"Out of an abundance of caution" is the new paradigm for cautions and warnings that might end up being excessive when looking back on events.

Just this week, some Italian seismologists were CONVICTED of manslaughter for under-alarming on an impending earthquake. As if that's an exact science. Insanity reigns during uncertain times.

Unfortunately, they were pretty close this time. Most of my area is without power, starting 2 doors down from me. One sister in Jersey had a tree hit her house. My other sister on Long Island has 4' of water in her house. We still have a hard time finding gas anywhere (trailblazer not helping there). The beaches look like they're pretty much destroyed. NYC is a giant parking lot. The OT is good since we're replacing downed lines. If I'm not at work, I'm helping clear downed trees. Hopefully we get back to normal next week.
