Hot or Cold Air Only - Is this an Actuator problem?

What's up people? OK, so trying to fix one annoying problem. I have the digital HVAC and I can only set hot or cold air. I'm not getting that mix of warm air. When I have the heat on the floor, it basically burns my driving foot, cause it just blows very hot air the whole time.

Also, don't know if this is related, but when I turn off the HVAC it continues blows hot air to the floor, unless I change it to cold then cold continues to blow. Pretty good speed, but not as fast as when the HVAC is on.

If I know where to start then I can read up from the other threads and replace it. Thanks!

If you can change the temperature from Cold to Hot, it's probably not an actuator.

If you set it at Auto and 72 deg what happens?
What does it show for outside temperature?
Is the indicated outside temperature close to accurate?

There are probably error codes, but standard code readers don't see them.

If the Blower never stops, even when off, you have a different problem.

Just guessing, I'd say your outside temp sensor is inaccurate, reading -40 maybe? A HVAC reset may fix it.

I had the hot or cold and nothing in between plus other issues too, I changed the blower speed control module http://gmtnation.com/f23/oh-boy-hvac-issues-oil-pressure-fluctuations-3975/, plus I then changed my ambient temp sensor http://gmtnation.com/f23/ambient-air-temperature-sensor-4573/, the blower speed control unit helped with temp control but the ambient temp sensor made it perfect. Maybe start with that ambient temp sensor since it's so cheap and easy to replace. hope this helps.

I know on my temp control that set at 32 it was hot air any setting below 32 was cold air.

The outside temp reads fine. I'll check the Auto temp at 72 and see what happens.

Hmm..very good to know. I will check it out. Will update once I can get a chance to check it this evening.
