Hello guys,
I'm installing my DD HU with the Merta 95-2009 dash install kit, I've cut the tabs as per the instructions for GM's but it still doesn’t fit, is it safe to presume to keep cutting the side tabs on the left and right till it fits?

Also once I get it to fit, where to I secure the deck to the dash? The old radio had the 3 screws in front and with this dash kit I’m not sure how to secure it?

Thanks for the help

Can you post a picture of what you are looking at those screws should integrate right into the new piece

It's most important to cut the RIGHT tabs, (the directions can seem clear, but not be) otherwise you'll find yourself buying another one (ask me how I know :duh: :dunce:)

Once you have the right tabs cut, and the right tabs remaining, there will be screw holes that line up with the ones in the radio stack, and put the face of the HU at the proper distance so it lines up with the bezel when you put everything back together.

do i need to cut more of the tabs off to make it fit in the dash?

Also I can screw the plastic side pieces to the HU, afterwards though where do i secure the head unit and mounting bracket to the dash?

Thanks for the help

Looks like you haven't started on the driver's side right?

On the passenger side, if you left the correct tab in place, there will be 2 holes. One that fits over the nipple on the right side dash mount, and another that lines up with the screw hole right by it (can't recall if it's above or below) I didn't keep the instructions for mine, so I can't tell you if that's the right one, just that the holes will line up with the screw holes in your dash for mounting.

Yeah, you should have left the tab in front of that one. That's the same mistake I made with mine

That's what I was afraid of, Oh well live and learn. I'll buy another kit, do I still need to cut more off the left side? I think I'm starting to see how this is bolted to the dash. Thanks for the help

When you're all done, you'll have 1 tab on each side. Once you see how it's supposed to fit into the dash, that makes it a lot easier to work with.
