With the worn control arm bushing that the previous owner ignored for a long time, I have this issue where 3 of the tires are in decent tread/shape while the driver side front is worn. Since I'm driving it in 2WD all the time will it be ok to just replace the 2 front tires? it's a complete waste if I'm going to replace all 3 since they are in good shape..

I'd just replace the two tires and put the new set in the rear. As for the third tire you can always put it on the spare rim if it's the same size rim that is. Most ppl over luck there spare and they tend to rot.
