Front master Window switch, reset?

So... Spent all day at dealership bc master windows switch stopped working (yes the recalled one) so they determined it not part of the recall bc there was no apparent water damage. Spent all day on phone with gm said can't change it out because recall isn't official yet but if I pay for it (750) with labor they will reimburse me later. They're out of their f@?ing minds. So just going to buy the part off ebay or wherever cheapest price, does it have to reset button a gm dealership? Read some do something some don't. Help please. Sorry so long venting a little.

A used one that's been in a vehicle does not need the dealer to touch it. A new, virgin one from the warehouse needs to be "configured" by a dealer with their Tech II tool because GM hasn't figured out how USB peripherals all work plug and play right out of the box. Revenue enhancement for the dealers. But we all are victimized by the same racket so don't feel alone.

All "New" DDMs need programming. So wherever you buy it, you'll probably end up at the Dealer to make it work.

"Used" DDMs have already been programmed so if you find a used one and it doesn't work, it's probably defective (double-check your wiring for frays or breaks usually in the door jam boot).

Yeah had all power sources checked, everything getting power windows switch just not turning on. Going to see if I can switch one out of switch one out of a friends trailblazer too make sure it's just that part. Checking craigslist now and looking for a deal, anyone in ri have one let me know

Swap passenger for driver's side and make sure it's not a broken communication wire in the boot at the door hinge line.

I was thinking that, not sure if would work. But yes it does pulled out passenger side and it worked, so I'm guessing need a new or used front master switch.

So finally got in my master switch from ebay but it's a different color, anybody know if you can just pull off top piece to paint /plasti dip it? Without breaking it, don't feel like going two more weeks without opening my window again. Thx

I haven't had mine out in a while, but can't you just swap-out the switches?

So finally got in my master switch from ebay but it's a different color, anybody know if you can just pull off top piece to paint /plasti dip it? Without breaking it, don't feel like going two more weeks without opening my window again. Thx

I'm fixing to order one as well. Would you mind telling me what seller you used? Also mines an 06 can I use 02-05?

Messed around with it after work, the panel comes right off swapped it out. @boog2006 I bought it from used salvage auto on ebay, searched around for about a week found that one for 98 $ best deal I found.
