First nascar race advice.

Headed to the Daytona 500 next week. I know next to nothing about the sport, but it looks like a hell of a good time. A major sporting event you can bring a cooler and 30 beers per person...dang.

Sitting halfway between turn 4 and start/finish. Taking a shuttle from the hotel to avoid parking.

Any advice regarding the race itself for a first time nascar attendee? What to bring, events to do before race, what to leave behind, race track etiquette.

Bring hearing protection.

Sunscreen , sunglasses, wear as much NASCAR apparel as possible to blend in. Get head phone/ear muff radio combo cause they have the race going over FM inside the facility and you'll be able to hear what's happening.
