The actuator motor for my endgate window moves the window up very slowly and has sometimes stalled completely, causing me to help it with my hand to get it all the way closed. Going down is not a problem but, I'm sure, the weight of the window glass makes going up much more stressful on the motor and mechanism. I know that it will eventually fail, if I don't do something but, is there any way to lubricate the mechanism? Also, do I need to take the whole assembly apart to do this? My midgate window has broken and is completely down, as well, and I am going to have to replace the actuator assembly on this, sometime soon. Would I be better off replacing both the mid and endgate mechanisms at the same time or can I save the endgate one, somehow? I've learned much on this forum that has helped to keep my XUV going and will appreciate any hints or information anyone can provide.

Replacing the midgate window regulator isn't too difficult. A few of us swapped one out fairly easily. The part we didn't know about, is the wire harness was plastic welded to a piece of the midgate frame, so we had to hotglue the new one back in it's place. We think that regulator may have been replaced previously, but couldn't be sure. As for the endgate, I think you're going to end up replacing that regulator as well.
