EGR Location?

I have a 2006 chevy work truck with a 4.3 L V6. Where the EGR valve should be according to my repair manual front of engine in the middle. On my truck no egr valve, I've looked everywhere. I've come to the conclusion that my truck has a different egr system. Can someone let me know whats going on with the missing egr. Its has not been blocked off.where it should be there's nothing there. Thanks James66
