not sure if its a wrong shaft or something terribly wrong in the front diff. this is on a '02 gmc guy who owns it said he had the car lot put in a new pass side front shaft for him, not sure how he knew to look but the end that plugs into the diff has a real sloppy fit, wont push in any further. im thinking its either a wrong shaft or the bearing inside the diff for that side is gone. it also had a "maufacture specific pwertrain" trouble code stored. not sure if thats related, probly not. didnt write the number down before i cleared it, im sure it will pop up again. any thoughts on the sloppy fit? maybe they got a shaft assy for a S-blazer instead of this chassis setup.

If it installed deep enough to engage the circlip, then it's a common failure of the bearing in the splined disconnect assembly. A few threads here but more on our sister offroad site offroadtb.com. Splined disconnect is the magic search phrase.

Good tech article here:
Offroadtb.com Front Axle 4WD Disconnect

I'm not sure how anybody else's shaft would possibly fit for length and spline count.
