I just got a 2004 Envoy. I know there are quite a few cell phone holders to choose but I was just getting some opinions/ideas for the best one to buy. There was one that goes onto the cup holder and one that connects to the vent. I rather have a good one that sticks to the side and is near the shifter. Opinions?? Also any references for a good hands free bluetooth? Thanks!

I personally like the Panavise permanent mount. I combined it with this mount adapter and the actual holder is the one that came in this kit. The only drawback to the setup that the rigid nature of the mount allows for vehicle vibrations to transfer through to the phone. I currently have a rag folded up and squeezed behind the mount until I have time to come up with a more permanent and aesthetically pleasing solution. Here's a couple of pics of everything installed:

I like the location as it doesn't require excessive stretching to reach the screen and it's up high enough that I don't have to look away from the road to see whats on the screen. I looked at ones that would mount to the vent but didn't like the fact that it would block the vent and that very hot or cold air would be blowing directly onto my phone (potentially causing condensation if the ambient temperature is different enough once you remove it from it's mount). As far as bluetooth, I replaced the stock head unit with an aftermarket one that has built in bluetooth, so I can't really help you there.

ProClip USA. hands down. Buy the vehicle mount to match your truck, then buy the device holder to match your device. Screw them together.

I have tried a few different set-ups on cell phone holsters and holders. After much trial and error, I got a Kenwood aftermarket CD/DVD player with built in BLUETOOTH technology. I was always disappointed with the cell phone mounts I bought and never satisfied. Now I just hop in the TB, keep my cell in my pocket, and it syncs right up to my radio. All of my phone controls are now handled through my radio, and there is no need to take my phone out at all. I have a small mic up by the sun visor, but other than that I only had to install the radio. I am very pleased with this set-up, and I have had NO issues with connectivity. Just my 2 pennies.

Best option, I usually just set it in the cup holder. If GPS is required I picked up one of the verizon window mount ones for $10 on ebay.

I also have the Panavise mount in the same location as Ogre. I have to change the actual holder though as I got a Droid Bionic and put an Otterbox on it and it doesn't fit without taking the rubber case off.

I mounted it there because I use Torque on my phone and it is easy to see there.

x2 - I have been using ProClip mounts for 8 or 9 years now and they are all awesome.

What mount did you go with? I also have an Otterbox but ended up taking it off because I couldn't find any mounts that would work with it.
