Sounds like you need a schematic.
Try this-disconnect the wires (via the connectors, don't cut them) to the liftgate and the seats, then try plugging in the relay. If it overheats, it could be a grounded wire. If it don't overheat, you probably have a component thats shorted/stuck on, or drawing too much current.
That's why you need the schematic.
Good hunting.

Thanks! Guess its time to clear out my saturday... lol

Burnt Up Wires! i was surprised about how bad they was burned. Now im trying to figure out what do I do next with this. Im am amazed at how bad it is. What would cause this to happen? This looks pretty expensive to repair :-/

IMHO,
In the first picture everything looks normal.

In the second, that looks like a crushed section of wires. Maybe they are routed wrong or something got caught under the seat at some point. The crushed wires are either touching each other or touching a metal part under the seat.

That should not take more than an hour or so to repair with multiple lengths of new wire and some soldering and heat shrink skills.

Ok.. now i guess its a matter of finding out the wire and the gauges. Also I should invest in a soldering kit and start practicing. I dont know anyone that is good with wiring.

Im thinking if i remove the seat and the carpet then i can follow the wires and see.

It looks like that harness has a connector going into the Module and a couple retainers that you can release to get some slack, then bring the Harness out where it should be easier to work on.

Yep, buy a solder gun and do some practice. Buy a good wire stripper too. Watch a few youtube videos. You'll be a pro in no time. Here's one.

I am at the dealership now with a new Lgm installed. It can't be programmed because its not communicating with the Bcm. Had all the typical isssues with a lgm like wiper locks dome lights and key fob. 12volts and good ground. Will advise after diagnosis and my $$$ sucked away from me.

in my haste of a sad diagnosis, I failed to look at the very small gage wire thats of course orange and it was broken up near the tailgate hinge and the pigtail into the lgm needed new connecters for intermittent contact....that cost 200 bucks...so anyone need a programmed lgm for an 05 TB LT2 tats loaded with options? its on ebay for 35 bucks listed under "forfortwo". gosh hope my mistake can benefit other to be more thourough.......
