Battery light stays on but very dim , even with ignition off and key out of switch. Any thoughts about this?

If the battery was just charged and it is still weak green then it might need to be replaced because it is low on water.

How old is the battery?

I think he means that the dashboard instrument cluster Battery Charging system indicator (which looks like a battery) is illuminated.

could be the instrument cluster circuit board has some contamination allowing sneak connections, or the board is going bad, or it could be the ignition switch not fully turning off the circuit.

should be a test to perform to start troubleshooting.
