Bass just not loud..

My current setup:

Im running 2 Soundstream XS12 DVC 300 watt rms subs off a polk audio amp thats bridged down to 200 x 1. (in this setup how many watts are my subs getting?)

My subs sound ok with the right tunes but I have to turn it up so loud that the front and rear doors speakers are killing me. My assumption is that the amplifier is way to small to run the subs. I would like some punch and lows without having to turn the deck up so far. (amp gain is set to almost 75%)
I knew when I started this that I would never be happy and constantly upgrading . I guess for now, could someone point me in the right direction for a suitable amp for the 2 subs as far as total watts RMS. 2 chan? monoblock?
I would like to keep the amp as low cost as possible without buying a boat anchor.

200x1 you will be getting 100w if wired how I think. And yes your amp is not super powerful and its not going to be trunk thumping I remember you just got a hold of most of your stuff which is a bummer but you should slighty overpower subs because when you try to fill that gap with gains and improper amp tuning your risk damaging your sub. Try RE audio or hifonics its a good value amp and you can hit your power level.

Edit: try for a dual channel mono so they can each get there own channel

Forgive my ignorance but can you show me an example of a 2 channel monoblock amp?:undecided:

And as far as an amp goes will something like a massive audio p1500.1 be too much? Or is this the wrong type all together?

1500w RMS @ 1 Ohm / 1500w x 1 RMS / 3000w x 1 Max.
Dimensions 8.70" x 2.6" x 17.5"
Edge Lit Glass Strip features illuminated logo on Aluminum heatsink
Optional remote Bass Level control
EZ Link circuitry allows multiple Amps to link together
N-Channel Circuit for high-efficiency
Nickel plated precision connectors
Protect modes include thermal, short circuit, reverse voltage and over voltage
Proprietary "Bass Kompressor" circuitry provides low- frequency enhancement
Input sensitivity low level: 120mVrms ~ 5.0 Vrms
Frequency response: 8 Hz - 180 Hz
Lowpass: 40 - 180 Hz / 18dB
600Wx1 RMS @ 4 Ohm Mono
950Wx1 RMS @ 2 Ohm Mono
1500Wx1 RMS @ 1 Ohm Mono
S/N 100dB
THD <1%

Monoblock dual is a JL thing my bad.
And
1000rms is gonna cook your sub go for 650rms would be perfect you can over power but you must be careful and tune your amp right.

CLASS D 2 Channel my bad I was at work so I could not explain in depth Class D circuitry is a solid set up for great bass.
and What are your subs Dual Voice Coil, Single voice coil do you have them wired at 2OHM or 4Ohm that's a big factor so If you give me a bit more I will start the search for some amps to throw you some ideas. Off work and ready to help lol

So true, so true. One time I started a rebuild during a rebuild.

That amp would be a good match power wise (I can't vouch for their quality). Wire both (d4) woofers to 4 ohms. That would be roughly 300rms/woofer.

cant make up my mind

Pyle is like crack, just say no.:rotfl:

One of the best amps in the 500w range that I have owned is the rockford fosgate p500-1bd. I ran that on two 12" HX2s and did a 139. That little thing got down!

Well if you see something you might want, feel free to ask us what we think.

I didn't realize that RF amp is still in the mid $200s so scratch that.

well i can pick one up for $160 from the classifieds here in my area... supposedly brand new not a scratch on it. Used for less than a week. I can probably run my 2 subs off of it until I can get the 2 RE Audio subs ordered.

American bass, my dude is running 2 american bass hd 12 d2's at .5 ohm on an american bass vfl 200.1, his mecca and IASCA scores are 148 and 146 db (no wall) on a term lab meter, the 146(2 db drop) was due to him not haveing his idle turned up high enough, even the lower end american bass is loud as hell, member boricua SS has 2 dx 12's in a custom box with 2 kenwood 800 watt amps(class ab 2 channel, not even a true sub amp)

Rockford Fosgate R1200-1D Class D Amplifiers at Onlinecarstereo.com

Heres what I went off of, Looks pretty damn good for $160 that amp is pretty expandable if you get some RE's in the future. Just remember the power you buy is split so even with RE's Mid level 12s they sit at 600rms so if you wire the subs to 2Ohms on the 800rms your still under by 200rms but that can work for a lot of people Im just saying from the point that I'm at 1000rms and looking to maybe going to 2000rms its a terrible addiction. :rotfl:

Which RE's are you looking at getting anything less than these i wouldnt even bother with

Those with an american bass phantom 1600 would get real loud, its 800 true watts at 1 ohm, anything bob has at american bass is guaranteed to give the wattage labeled or more
