I have a 2004 Trailblazer LT with steering wheel controls. My question is this, there is no dedicated bluetooth button, just the screamy person head (I think onstar). Is this button able to be used for activating the voice control on an aftermarket radio using this adapter or any adapter... or is the only functionality of this button to the onstar system? Thanks in advance for your help?

What button are you referring to? :undecided:

Also, what does this have to do with the Axxess SWC module? The Axxess module keeps all buttons functioning like they do now, but with an aftermarket head unit.

You mention Bluetooth. An aftermarket head unit with BT will include a microphone that switches on when making a call.

The button I am talking about is the one on the left hand side above the "PROG" and the left of up "Source". I understand it keeps all the basic functionality of the other radio buttons, but I am unsure of the functionality of that one in particular as I have never had the onstar service. I have a bluefusion unit installed now and that button is used to activate the voice control feature on that unit. My question is with the ASWC will I be able to program that button to activate voice control for the aftermarket HU? :undecided:

It's lazy, but nice just to be able to hit a steering wheel button to activate voice control on the radio to iphone.

My wife had Onstar for a year or so on her Rainier and if I recall that just simply activates the onstar instead of pushing the button on the mirror. I hardly ever used it except for the telephone function. I haven't tried in a while but even now if you press the button without onstar activated it should still activate the onstar voice.
I'd like a bluetooth solution that uses the onstar system's mic but can stream wirelessly from my phone, plus displays caller id but not utilize the xm and display emails and text's on my factory nav unit. It seems you can only get one or the other being one that uses the xm system or one that goes through the onstar system. I saw the reason that streaming wasn't available through the onstar based bluetooth systems is because it would be mono but Pandora and others stream in mono anyway. I've been plugging my phone into the rear entertainment system's aux input but it is a hassle.
