Auto- Stick???

I was in AZ this past week and rented an Equinox with an Auto-Stick style shifter. It actually made the vehicle more interesting to drive! So I got to thinking if there are any 4L60E transmissions with this. I would think it wouldn't be that tough of a thing to do but I'm not really innovative so I thought I'd start a discussion. Is it possible? Has any one tried?

IME the novelty wears of quickly and you end up using it as a normal auto 97% of the time. I think it would be difficult if not impossible to retrofit as the +/- button control I have played with in other vehicles was different than what I experience when manually moving the shifter from D to 3/2/1 on vehicles not equipped with the "auto stick" feature. There were plenty of vehicles than used the same trans though so maybe one of them had it available from the factory. I don't know of any off hand though.
