My 2005 is almost to 100k. Haven't really done a whole lot to it besides oil changes and a thermostat. Recently changed my spark plugs with ac delco and cleaned the throttle body. Im considering going to stellarship and getting them to change out all my fluids besides coolant. Any thoughts or ideas? Only mods so far, demolded, rear hatch handle delete, removed running boards. Want to do resonator delete and take tires upto 245/70r17. Thought about lifting and spacers but at 100k thought it way be a bad idea. Even with that its my daily driver so I was only thinking 265 max.

Have you ever exchanged the differentials and transfer case fluid? Every 50k for transfer case. If you change the oil you should be able to save $$ and do these yourself. Even if you rarely use 4wd. Power steering fluid too. Others will chime in for sure

I havent...I know bad owner. Mostly highway miles, and used the 4x4 twice. Wanted to do lift, spacers and 265/65r17 but started to rethink it. ORTB would call me a mall rated.lol Truck has been a great truck to date. Just wanted to do the things so I can take it to 200k.

I don't mean to thread jack but does the 50k apply to 2wd envoys?

Do you have a transfer case? My understanding is that the transfer case splits the "drive" to the front and rear differentials in 4x4's and awd's. I would be surprised if you did. Just the rear diff for you, 50-100k depending on who you listen to. Sooner the better.

Limestone: your truck might make it to 200k, but your TC won't. Change the fluid with autotrak II asap. Rarely using 4wd another reason to change it so it is fresh and good when you want/need it. Small investment for what it could cost you time&$$ wise

I have 265/65/17 and no lift or spacers were needed.

I just did my t-case 2 days ago or so. Costed me $30. $19 for the two quarts of auto trak II and $10 for the pump. oh and get a 10mm ( i believe, just watch MAY03LT's youtube vid) hex head socket for another 5-$10 if you dont have it thats all you need. Besides a couple other sockets that you should have.

the bottom hex is drain top one is to fill.. (Duh) lol.

Just make sure you can get the fill plug out before you drain:biggrin: Good luck!!

Vaild point, thank you. Not using my 4x4 much is a price im willing to pay so I dont have to deal with that evil white stuff you call "snow"lol. The joys of being in the south I suppose. With all this said will I jeopardize my stock suspension going 265/65r17?

You should be fine stock tire (245/65r17) is 29.5" 265/65r17 are 30.6" you should just make it pass the upper ball joint (limiting factor on TB), however that depends on the tire tread. For example if you are going to run a MT or AT tires the inside lugs could hit the upper ball joint but would depend on the tread. Good luck and don't grind down the outside of the ball joint as I have seen some do. That is just plan dumb. And get xfer fluid changed is cheap to do.

No, you can fit up to 30.6" tires with stock wheels.

I was referring to the rear diff.

30-100k depending on who you listen to. I'd say all relative to how you treated it during those miles. At least once every 4 years won't hurt either. For the cost it's worth it. Stick to synthetic 75w-90 or whatever your manual says.

I say go for a complete fluid change,

include the transmission, differentials, transfer case and flush brake fluid and PS fluid.

make sure the front end and suspension are inspected by someone who knows what they are doing. Fuel filter if you have one.

empty the ash tray, and you should be good to go:tongue:

For what it's worth, as for your tire sizing, you should be fine with 265/65/17s bone stock (taking into account what previous poster mentioned about aggressive tread blocks). I'm currently running 285/40/22s on my Trailblazer with no issues. I did have 1.5" spacers, but just recently took them off, and it's close to the ball joints on the upper control arms but I've still got room to spare. My setup is actually wider AND taller than the 265/65/17 setup you mentioned you are looking for. Here's a link to a great tire size calculator I use that I think someone here on the site actually told me about to play around with different setups. Keep in mind though that your speedo will be off a little bit, typically about 2-4 mph slower than actual speed. http://1010tires.com/Tools/Tire-Size-Calculator/245-65R17/265-65R17/285-40R22

Let me know if I can assist in any way with any fluids like oil, transmission fluid, diff etc if you plan on DIY. For the transfer case use the blue GM stuff pictured above.

Replace the separator plate in the transmission, use the GM plate. 100K is a good time to replace it.

That does not happen without changing your back spacing.

You do have a valid point there...I'm not sure what the offset is on the stock wheels (someone said its +50), and if I remember correctly my wheels are +30 offset
