ok, so got my manifold gauge set today and hooked it up to check ac pressures... none at all. nothing on either high or low side. ... So i hooked up the vacuum pump and pulled a -20 Vacuum... has been holding for over an hour... so where the hell did my refrigerant go? Any ideas on this one?

look at the bright side, you got the air out of your new hoses.

If you have a Big Lots store near you, they have 134a for about $5.50 a can. I just bought a few. They don't show up on their web site, but my local store had some on the shelf.

i bought it at local orileys... it was either 2 cans at 20ea, or 2 cans at 12ea plus 16 for dye... much easier for me to just use the cans with it included.

OK... Pressure fine, ac cold as hell when moving... But let it sit and idle in 90° weather and the ac performance suffers turning air warm. Get moving again and it goes back cool... Any ideas on this?

Its an 08, has old school viscus clutch that is working properly as far as I can tell. Does not overheat.

My 02 would do that when it got real hot outside.Simply giving the engine a slight bit of gas to raise the RPM slightly would help as that provided more RPM for the fan to work with.

Its a pain... I watched the ac outlet temp go from about 55 and slowly climb to around 73 in 10 mins at idle.... Quick romp around the parking lot and it was down to 62...

I recently sprayed my condenser with AC coil cleaner, although I notice AC blows cold a lot quicker, I haven't been able to test it in hot weather... Haven't gotten past 75 degrees for almost 6 weeks...
