Adding PCV?

I'll be shopping for some parts tomorrow to make a DIY intake pipe, and thought I'd ask if anyone had added an inline PCV valve to their truck? Since I'll have all this apart this weekend, now would be a good time to add it if it's been done with good results.

I'm also curious why they chose not to use one from the factory, I have my doubts about it just being that 'GM was cheap'. One small grommet and a 10 cent PCV valve couldn't have been honestly left out to cut costs....

Did they try to completely eliminate any possibility of crankcase pressurization?
Was the engine and throttle body designed to have some minor blow-by oil thrown onto it for lubrication purposes?
Am I overthinking the issue?
Does the Flying Spaghetti Monster truly exist?

Input?
