One of the most strikingly realistic scenes in the Steven Spielberg Movie “Close Encounters of The Third Kind” is the one involving the Air Traffic Controller ‘Harry’ in “The Air East 31” incident when faced with an Unidentified Flying Object approaching a Commercial Airliner head on while In Flight. Surprisingly, THIS particular Scene was actually filmed well before the movie was even given the Green Light to begin its production.
Contrast THAT imaginary ATC Crisis against what actually happened in the late 1980s involving a Japan Air Lines 747 being followed by a formation of UFOs and you will completely understand the ending of “The Air East 31” scene in which several Airline Pilots decline to make any Official Reports of seeing or encountering any UFOs:
