While this Investigation involved a Chevrolet Cobalt having EVAP Purge Valve and/or Fuel Tank Pressure Sensor Issues... it lead Paul "Scanner" Danner into "Tumbling Down The Diagnostic Rabbit Hole" and to him bringing out The Basic BIG Guns that always begins as follows:
(1) Checking ALL of the Fuses in your Fuse Boxes.
(2) Checking your Wiring Harnesses FOR ENVIRONMENTAL OR ACCIDENTAL DAMAGE.
(3) Correlating the Use of Your EYES, HANDS, PROBE LIGHT, Harness BACK PROBES and GRAPHING DIGITAL MULTI-METER OR OSCILLOSCOPE READOUTS.
(4) The MOST Important Tool in the Box is the ONE INSIDE OF YOUR COCONUT... LOOK, SEE...and *THINK* ABOUT IT.
(5) Use the System Wiring Diagrams to Understand the ENTIRE Harnessing System from the Fuse Box to the Modules.
(6) Do a REALLY GOOD SOLDER AND INSULATION REPAIR on ANY Sketchy Wiring using TESA Tape to Bind Things Up.
(7) Be Suspicious and Don't Overlook the OBVIOUS... (Wrecked & Repaired Cars -R- TROUBLE!)
