4.2L noise

Hey guys I have another question to put out there. I have a 2002 bravada with 100k and it makes a periodic rattling/vibration under the hood, only noticed it at idle and before the engine is warm. It sounds like an pump with the line piched off. Only does it for 5 seconds at a time and only heard it a few times. Does this sound like a tell tale sign. Im thinking its the water pump or power steering but havent been able to isolate it.

sounds like a water pump to me.

with the hood up and the engine off, see if you can move the fan off-axs. push the blade a bit, if it moves anyway except round and round the water pump is shot

search the site for water pump.
