What concerns do you have about adding that extra 1"?

Honestly this has been covered on ORTB numerous times and I believe in general everyone recommends staying at 32s on the 3.42 due to excessive heat on the transmission without it locking. We have the power in the engine but then you lose torque.

Would a tranny cooler counteract this or should i just save and get a junkyard rear end and front diff in 3.73?

Changing in the gears will do you better. If you go up to 3.73 why not just go up to 4.10s? Changing the gears you will also want to retune the PCM to adjust for the new gears and tire sizes.

Only thing bad about 4.10's is that the rpms are up there when cruising highway speeds. Well and gas mileage

Going up in tire size will still yield good gas mileage with 4.10s.

I went to 4.10s and only run 30.6 inch tires. The added performance is quite noticeable and I only lost approximately 1 mpg in mixed driving. I do plan on going to a larger tire either via spacers or new rims. I can't imagine lugging around 32's or larger with 3.42's

Lifted 4.10s improved my mpg and 70 mph is 2000 rpm w 35s and was not much higher w 33s.

Optimal for 33s is 4.10. My 35s could use lower gears really.
