What is the largest spare tire you can fit on a 02-09 Trailblazer or Envoy?
I've seen this asked many times on foums and no absolute answers are given or proof shown.
That changes now.
The largest tire that will fit is a 235/80R17 which works out to 31.8" tall. I got a $100 "new old stock" tire from ebay and have them mounted on some cheap method 17x7.5" wheels I got in the bolt pattern I have on my spacers and were also $150 on ebay.
Here it is on the truck next to the 255/75R17 (32.1") I run daily.
Here it is under the truck. Tight fit with 1/4" to spare but its fine. It may rub if im towing but its metal on rubber... whatever.
I have true 32" tires on my 2008 Trailblazer with a 3" lift. 255/75R17 which comes out to 32.1". I did not have any issue driving with these on any corner of the truck with stabilitrack on.
This I have found 255/75R17 is the PERFECT size for these trucks. You can run 265/70r17s but thos are only 31.5"
Let me know if you want more info but this is a PSA
