Hello,
I have an 05 LT, with Bose and Onstar. Im replacing the headunit, but after reading everything regarding the wiring options for the better part of a week, I'm truly confused and slightly dizzy. I have no plans to continue using OnStar, and really dont care about the door chimes. If I wanted to use the factory speaker / amp setup, could I get away with either hardwiring it, or using the Metra 70-2003 and taping the ignition for power? If neither of those are an option, could I bypass the bose amp and just run new wires to the existing speakers, or will I need to replace all the speakers? I have no desire to use the $80+ adapters, as everyone I know who has experiences issues with them that I would not want to deal with in the next 6 months. Any input would be greatly appreciated!
