2002 Bravada AWD...30.5" Tires?

I have found a good set of used Michelin 245/70 R17s and was wondering if anyone was running the same size (30.5" diameter) on their 02 Bravadas?

Mine is pure stock, and the air bags have been changed out for coils on the rear end. It is currently running 255/60 R17's.

Let me ask this differently...does anyone know if I can run a 30.5" tire on my 2002 Bravada? It looks like it might be pretty close on clearance at the top ball joint.

I run 30.6 inch diameter tires on mine you should be fine especially considering that my 265-65-17's are wider than what you are contemplating. You'll be happy, go for it.

Cool, glad to hear that Pittdawg, thanks. I have seen pics of them and they look good but supposed to view them in person today. $100 for 4 of them, over half tread, even wear and no patches. :wootwoot:

When I went to check out these tires it turns out that they were actually Michelin 255/65/R17s (30.05" diameter), rather than 245/70/R17s (30.50" diameter) as advertised.

I did buy and install them, and have about 3/4" clearance at the upper ball joint, the stock-sized 255/60/R17s had about an inch of clearance. For $100, over half tread and a matching set with even wear I am very happy with the deal.

I can see where the 30.5" and 30.6" diameter tires could fit but, depending on the width, I bet they could get pretty close to rubbing.

This is a tad old, but I just thought I would chime in.
I have the Treadwright PUMA 245/70/17's on my 2002 Bravada, IIRC Treadwright says its a 30.4" tire I still have a little bit of room between the tire and spindle. I think i can fit my middle finger between the two and its a little snug. I love the PUMA's, I know I will be putting Treadwrights on it when they are worn down, just sucks they dont make the Puma anymore... Guys that means I will have to go bigger. :wootwoot:

Unless you have aftermarket wheels or wheel spacers you can't.

Sometime I plan on a lift and spacers. Maybe I should have re-worded. When I mentioned the distance between rubber and the spindle, I should have also said I wouldnt feel safe going any closer than I am now. lol

Pic of the (very little) clearance of my 265/65/17s when I first got them put on almost a year ago. I could barely fit my index finger tip between the tire and upper ball joint. Love the ride, and how they handle.
