This is my neighbors fully restored 1951 Willys M38. I am in love with this jeep. He said he won't put it in any car/truck shows because its not show room condition, I beg to differ. He drives this jeep several times a week during the summer and took me for a ride. Dear god hold on to your kidneys! Those tires don't give at all, and if you look at the number of leave springs you can see why the ride is a little stiff  I had to share these pics so someone else can appreciate all his hard work.

I'm sure he has befores, whether or not he wants to share with me is the question  Stating attention to detail doesn't do justice. He has owned several of these vehicles since the 60's and has researched everything. On the chassis there's a builders plate that had to be stamped by the builder after every rebuild. There's an entry for '58 probably when it came out of service and now there's an entry for his rebuild, very cool to see.

Looks like it was driven off the MASH site, haha.

A friend of mine had a 2 WD version that was painted blue. He claimed it was a Navy version. His looked like the Navy "rode it hard and put it away wet", nothing like that one, that is a fine job.
