ok so my ac runs really cold sometimes. when out side temp is over 85 it comes and goes. seems to be ok if at highway speeds untill come to a stop. then the fan clutch doesnt seem to kick in to cool things down . then the compressor kicks off and wont restart. i can stop the fan clutch with my hand. is the fan clutch my problem? when ac is working it is putting out 45 * at center vent. please help thanks

Very common problem on this year and model. You have a weak clutch coil assembly. When it gets hot, it cuts out. Sometimes you can take a shim out of the clutch assembly and close down the "airgap" thus resolving the problem. Most of the time it means a new compressor as new clutch/coil parts are impossible to find for this Sandor compressor. I had the exact same problem on my '02 SLT Envoy. A new (used) compressor solved the problem. HTH c good
