What sort of heat rating does rubber trans cooler line have?

I spliced in new front sections of the back lines, and the splice is fairly near the exhaust, but then again almost as far away from the exhaust as those lines get.

I'm thinking I may re-repair it with the metal lines in the future, but I hope I'm good to go for a minute here.

Any sense of what kind of heat the rubber lines will tolerate?

Well, I suppose I can damn well google that myself.

One source suggests they can take up to 300 degrees Fahrenheit.

How hot do you suppose the pipe is between the manifold and the catalytic converter?

I'd guesstimate that it would peak around 500f at the most.

Most lines have printing on them telling their pressure and heat capabilities.

Also keep in mind that while the pipe itself may become that hot, it doesn't mean that it'd necessarily be that hot even a couple inches from it. Testing with a probe would be a good idea, I suppose.

Maybe find some sort if insulating wrap to protect it.
