Straight pipe question

I just recently cut off my TB resonator and it got me thinking about cutting off the cats too and straight piping it all the way but I need a couple questions answered about it first, like what are the pros of this and what are the cons of this. Also I know I'd have a check engine light on after cutting the cats out, would there be anyway to by pass the engine light to not have it stay on in case something else went wrong and I needed to know the check engine light was actually on for another purpose. All input would be appreciated thank you.

Maybe just add a manga flow or flow master muffler like others have. as far as engine lights go, you can have any code tuned outta your pcm to get rid of your light. Or you can use an oxygen sensor defouler to trick the system into thinking the cat is still present. I've heard of a few on here who put a full exhaust on and actually lost horsepower though. I've also heard that aftermarket mufflers sound just as awful on the I6 as the stock. So it's all up to what you want to do. Straight pipes do look cool. If your looking for horsepower though, I doubt you'll see any gains seeing as we already have a pretty beefy stock exhaust. It's like 2 3/4" if I remember correctly.

The I6 only has one Catalytic converter. There are things that you can do but you have to balance it back out. Most will just gut their Cat and upgrade the muffler when they decide to go that route.

You'll wake up the dead with that thing. You must hate your neighbors.
Hahahaha well my first neighbor is my grandfather and he races super stock cars so he's always in his garage revving up his cars my second neighbor builds old muscle cars and drives a big lifted Silverado that is straight piped so I don't think anyone is going to care :celebrate:

Straight pipe sounds like shit. Its not a V8 and needs a muffler at least.

Cat delete can have code tuned out. Not sure Cat removal will really benefit you unless it is clogged. Tune is worthwhile even without deleting the code though.

I really liked the sound of my Hooker Aerochamber. Not sure I have heard an I6 I liked better honestly. I went to a Magnaflow now and it is a bit deeper and louder, but the tone is not as much of what I liked.

Not sure who did full exhaust and lost power, but I know my custom catbacks have definitely not hurt my mpg or performance. I got an increase over stock even if only via butt dyno.

I've tried several mufflers and they all sounded like fat ricers. I don't know why these engines sound like garbage. Could be the multiple valves. Straight pipe is just loud.

I actually have had a few jeep guys say they wish their 6 cyl could sound as good as mine. Surprised me cause some of them jeep 4.0 inlines of theirs can sound pretty decent.

No idea. Got it slightly used from a member here about 4 years ago and it sat around. He had it for about a week but his wife said no to it. I think it is about 24 inch long oval model about 10 inches wide if you look at there site. It is not a TB specific by any means.
