.port on intake

02 tb 4.2 is anything supposed to be connected to what looks like a vacuum port in the front of the intake manifold. under the airbox

Unless yours is an EXT where this is used for the rear heater core diverter valve. If not, it may not even be drilled out or it will have a cap.

It's not a "true" dual HVAC. That one just pipes air from the the front system. So you're good with nothing connected to that nipple.

My 02 SWB draws vacuum from that port. Did you verify there was no vacuum when the engine was running?

The only reason I suggest that is in case the back of the port is blocked but the sides would be open keeping something from being sucked straight into it.

no I stuck a straight pick in there and it only went in about 1/4"
