What is this connection? (top front of Intake Manifold)
(2006 Trailblazer LT 4.2L 4X4) Backstory - Recently had a P0171 and P0306 and couldn't pass inspection. I changed the air filter, cleaned the Throttle Body (Carb Cleaner), the MAF and MAP (MAF Cleaner - 12hrs + dry time), changed the Intake manifold gaskets and cleaned out the manifold...

Unless yours is an EXT where this is used for the rear heater core diverter valve. If not, it may not even be drilled out or it will have a cap.

It's not a "true" dual HVAC. That one just pipes air from the the front system. So you're good with nothing connected to that nipple.
I checked it out. It's plugged on the inside. thanks for replies

My 02 SWB draws vacuum from that port. Did you verify there was no vacuum when the engine was running?
The only reason I suggest that is in case the back of the port is blocked but the sides would be open keeping something from being sucked straight into it.

I've never checked that port on mine to see how far that hole will go in........
