2002 4.2 Trailblazer 219k.

Had been hard starting the last 2 weeks. Today sitting at a light all of a sudden she started sputtering and missing. At the green light a noticeable loss of power. Made my stop, shut the TB off and she started up with the flashing ses light, sputtering my way home down lots of power. Got home and checked p0300 and p0306
Checking the misfire logs #1-5 (0) #6(4128).

Dead #6 coil?

What do you guys think?

Thanks,
Walt

Likely but check to be sure first. Swap #6 coil with #5, clear codes and see if the misfire moves with the coil.

Don't drive too much with the missing cylinder or you will fry your cat.

BTW, if you feel like throwing a buck or two into the The Tip Jar, it would be appreciated. Or even better, become a supporter!

New Delphi coil, AC Delco Iridium plugs installed and throttle body cleaned. She's purring again.

Had 70K plus on the old Iridium plugs and they still looked great. It has been that long since the last throttle body cleaning. Wow it was dirty and gummy. Worse than the first time I cleaned it.

P0300 code yesterday. Sputtered all the way home. Ocassional flashing CEL. Cleaned the throttle body this morning. Hadn't done it since 2014 - my bad. Cleared the code. Running great (after 10 miles). Time will tell.
