My night at the track

Figured I'd post this here since i havent been on much lately. I posted these pix on fb about 2 wks ago as well. I haven't been down a track since 2011 due to spinning a bearing in the spring of 2012 and we all know what happened after that. So after 4 years, I crossed my fingers and off we went to Norwalk (Summit Motorsports Park). I could only get 2 runs in as there were right around 150-200 vehicles there. We got there at 545 and my first run was at 730pm. She ran a 13.67 @ 101.43 mph with a 2.056 60' and 8.79 1/8th. My second run came in at 9:45 ish and she ran a 13.55 @ 102.49 mph with a 2.267 60'... she was spinning badly! Over all I was kind of disappointed considering I ran faster times back in 2011. But that's all changing veeeeery soon as some have seen my next round of mods...

Current mods are PCMofNC Tune, LS-1 Electric fans w/2 relay harness, 4" FWI w/LS7 MAF, NGK Plugs, 160* T-Stat, OBX Long Tube Headers w/a catted y, and a cat back Corsa Sport Exhaust.

I just installed my Circle D 3200 stall this wk so I'll be headed back to the track to see if I can hook and cut times down. People claim to drop anywhere from .2-.5 seconds on a new stall...

Weight reduction! Lol

Yea. She was holding my 10 month old nephew since my brother had the fancy Nikon camera out taking the pix you saw earlier. So she did the best she could.

Sweet pics.....did you get to line up against the JGC? I'm curious that you went a tenth faster the second run while spinning. I don't know much about the specifics on the LS motor you have, regarding IAT....but I'm pretty sure when the IAT reaches a certain temp then the timing gets kicked back alot. Sitting there waiting to stage could bring that temp up.

My old coworker used to remove his from the tube and hang it between the hood cowl and the windshield so it wasn't affected by under hood temps. I don't know if it would have any change on your motor but something to check out.

Well the temps dropped nearly 20* that night. It was only in the 50's so DA was peeeerfect for racing. The truck was off in the staging lanes and I/we pushed it until i was next in line. I sat for 2 hours until the next race. So a cooled off motor, coupled with 50* temps equalled the faster time.

And I never got to race the SRT. He was one and done.
