Lifted vs lowered

i have talked to @HARDTRAILZ and @Capote about lowering and lifting the to. To be honest I have REALLY wanted to lift it since I got but I haven't been able to pull the trigger on it due to various reasons. I just wanted to hear different, I guess opinions (nothing like "that looks stupid or anything like that") and if you have had experiences with both lifted and lowered that'd be great. I'm not saying I'm gonna do either or I'm just wanting to hear some reviews.

it depends, it is easy to over do it either way, you don't want to be to low and you don't want to be to high, personally I lowered mine because I like the street truck look more then the offroad look (despite living in the mountains) always have, don't have anything against the lifted look unless they run to small a tire, then I have to rip them apart, me I wanted a truck easier to get into, not harder, with the drop it's so easy to get right in, takes no effort, don't even need the running boards anymore, which cleans up the truck more.

I'm 6'3" so I shouldn't have too much of a problem, and ya I don't like the look of running boards on our platform

I like the look of both but prefer driving the lifted truck, once I get my new truck I will likely mirror Regulators truck.
I like both looks but I've literally talked about lifting mine since I got it in January '13. And regulators rig is a good one to model after

After much consideration, and one phone call to Mark McMaster, I bought Mark's 2.5" kit.

There has not been a day that goes by that I regret it. I love being lifted because you don't have to worry about scraping anything off the trail. Before, my bumper would scrape on the smallest curbs. I got so annoyed that I told myself something has to change. I needed new tires anyways so I hit up Mark and he sold me his old style kit for $150 shipped. Put it on and have loved it since.

If I knew last year what I know now, I'd get the lift on first, then buy spacers, and top it off with tires. I went with 255/70/16 Dynapros (biggest you can go 100% stock) and then installed the lift and regret that decision because it looks too stock for my liking. I am getting 265/75/16 KO2's tomorrow so we'll see how all that goes. Feel free to check out my build as I am constantly modifying my truck.

I forgot to add....I wasn't looking to be a ass clown mall crawler with 6" of lift on chrome wheels. Just a little something something to make my truck look less like I'm driving the kids to soccer practice :rotfl:

Thank you both for your help. @SnowBlazer ours would look like dead on if I lifted mine

With a minor lift they look a hell of a lot more solid, just a better look than stock.
PS: when you loose the soccer game you still look tough driving away with the lift! Lol

Lift it, yours would look a lot like mine. I have 16" wheels with 265 70R16 tires on a 2.5" lift. Check out my build.

I have thought about it a few times, I have also thought about getting a body lift.

Im lowered, because I too like the street truck appearance, and HATE wheel well gap. as a fan of off-roading it's hard for me to bite the bullet and take railroad tracks at 20... There's trade offs for everything. But if you like to drive hard and have fun lift it high. Just look at hardtrailz and highvoltage trucks. If you don't like those then you won't like a lifted truck

I'm 6' even so the drop put it just right to slide right into the drivers seat without climbing up.

Why haven't you done either of them?
