Summary: A "how to" for ifor making one or both of your cigar plugs come one only with accessory power
Difficulty: Easy
Estimated Time: 30-45 minutes
Part Numbers: Standard bosche style relay, wire taps
Cost: $5
Tools Required: Wire strippers/cutters, plyers, 7mm socket, phillips head screwdriver

This is a simple walkthrough for how to change one of your cigar outlets to be a switched outlet. The reason you may want to do this is in case you leave something plugged in at all times and don't want to worry about battery drain. I'm sure there are other useful applications as well.

Step 1. remove dash

Step 2. Locate wiring from back of cigar lighter plug

Step 3. Connect a lead from either fuse 29 in the rear fuse box or from the switched power on an aftermarket stereo plug (if you have one) and run it to the dash opening where the cigar wiring is.

Step 4. Follow the wiring diagram below to wire up the relay with the plug.

Step 5. Reassemble the dash
