Welcome aboard. I grew up in Queens. Born in Bethpage.

Envoys and TBs are heavy vehicles with big engines. Stop and go LI traffic does not yields the best mileage. I have to head up there regularly for work and rent a car as often add I can.

Thanks for the welcoming! [emoji1] I understand what your saying but I should be getting better than this. My brother's jeep with 138k and previous owner neglect gets 12mpg, also a 99 blazer I had got bad mpg as well (15 mpg) all highway with 74k. But when it comes to weight my last car a 05 crown Vic police interceptor with 94k which weights the same and was always city driven and driven hard all the time lasted longer fueling than me feathering the envoy getting 8.7

Welcome, born and raised in Richmond Hill (131st street). Maybe you're getting 9 mpg because of the city driving over there :rotfl:

Hey Gerbil, I'm not too far from you in Bellerose Manor (Queens Village).

You haven't mentioned the condition of your truck. Have you performed a tuneup? Spark plugs, filters, etc. Is the check engine light on? Any codes? BEFORE doing a tune up on my 5.3, I hit 11.4 MPG.

Sorry about that here is the list of everything so far

Front & rear diff fluid
T case fluid
Trans. Fluid flush, filter and both shift solenoids
Engine oil (with 10w-30 by accident lol)
Power steering pump & fluid
Air filter
Spark plugs (acdelco 41-103) & coil boots
Coolant and t stat
Upstream O2 sensor
All fluids were top brand synthetics

Also did water decarbonization with 17oz bottles 3 times

I now have 100k and live in Queens. The best mpg I get is 12-13. The worst I've had was 8 and that was only during the winter.

I only got two codes for low coolant temp (for the 160* t stat) and p0014 for the cam actuator solenoid I cleaned it and the code went away

then when I did the water cleaning I got random cylinder misfire and idle speed to high but I had the vacuum hose off and then yesterday I got p0014 again so I might have to replace it

While the PCM will go to closed loop above 104 degrees and the O2 sensors are up and running, it may still be running rich until it hits it target of 192 degrees. Altough I doubt it's just the lower coolant temps, it's not helping your milage by causing a richer fuel curve.

Oh my bad i forgot to say it had a 160* when I bought it but i changed it to the correct 195 when I changed coolant
