Looking to buy a used engine for my 07 Trailblazer from a salvage yard. If I put a 06 engine in will I have to change anything out? I thought I read something about injectors would have to be changed.
Thanks for your help

The 06-07 engines are pretty much the same, 02-05 is the older head design, then 08-09 uses a different reluctor which would require you to swap out parts. If your just swapping one entire engine for another it should be pretty straight forward.

06-07 engines are the same IIRC, biggest difference is the 06 used the 1MB P12 whereas the 07 used the 2MB P12. If you just swap engines, should be pretty plug n play.

Bit of an old thread, but what is the difference between an 04 and an 05? Do they "match" up? I was told the fuel rail is different. If I just used the 05 long block and transferred all of the 04 stuff over, intake, fuel rail, etc. would it work? Trying to find out something as the motor in my 04 is locked up. Not sure if I should get an inexpensive motor locally or spend the extra $400-500 and get on for an '04.
