Look at the chart Larry posted, if you look again at the tires I have they're on 16s, not 17s. This is how I can run 265/70R16s.
You should be ok with 245/70R17 or 255/65R17, not sure 255/70R17s will fit. I was looking at going with 265/75R16s, but didnt know if I was going to have to mess with the UBJ. Bought the 265/70R16s instead, and they were $125 (now $120) a tire vs like $152 for the 265/75R16s. Stock 245/70R16s in the same tire are $119 now, so $1 more for an extra 1" of diameter isnt too shabby IMO. This truck wont see any offroading in Montana with my brother, he just likes the lift and bigger wheels for looks and ground clearance for snow. Id like to wheel it a little in the spring when its back in Seattle, but nothing crazy like Donny is doing
Plus I think Ive figured out the tire size adjustment for the 02-05 guys...going to do some testing next week on my 02 and then on Craig's 04 when he comes out for New Years. Fingers crossed!
