Codes at Auto Zone, no codes at home.

Went to Auto Zone today and had the codes checked. Replaced my battery in the parking lot.

C0035....C0455....C0244

I drove home and plugged in my old FIXD code reader, and there's nothing.

Any idea why there's codes at Auto Zone, and no codes at home?

Would disconnecting the battery clear the codes?

Perhaps ... Some Code Readers cannot "SEE" Those "C" Codes... Also... If you are getting any "Erratic Signaling" from the Wheel Speed Sensors...perhaps someone took OUT the requisite number of Sensor Harness "Twists Per Inch" needed to eliminate Ambient RF Noise from the Engine and the Environment that can skew the Very Mild A/C Coil electrical signals being created by the Reluctor Teeth inside of the Wheel Hub(s). Check THIS Video out to see what I mean:

It's been at the shop for a very long time. Lot's of things have been disconnected and then reconnected. Probably over and over again.

I'll drive it for 50 miles and see what happens.

Cheap-junk "consumer-grade" code readers and scan tools generally can view "P" codes, but not the other varieties. They may not even show manufacturer-specific "P" codes, mistranslating certain "P" codes such as P0301--P0308 into generic codes like P0300.

Another in a long list of reasons I'd rather have a used-but-usable "Professional-grade" scan tool than a brand-new "consumer- (DIY-) grade scan tool.

"Code readers" are just underachieving scrap.

The code reader was given to me as a gift. I'd like to upgrade but that's another thread.

Went to Auto Zone this morning to pick up a part for the other vehicle.

Asked them to read the codes. Guy said "Is the engine light on? If there's no light then there"s no codes."

"Ok fine," I said.

I've got no dash lights, and my cheap reader finds no codes.

Yeah, I knew the guy was just giving me the brush off.

I like him though, he's not trying to be "Mr. Customer Service."

I appreciate that.
