* SPOILER ALERT*... SKIP THE FIRST 52 MINUTES OF THIS FUBAR ...

GO DIRECTLY TO THE END PART WHERE THE TECH DISCOVERS (ONLY FOR THE 2ND TIME IN HIS RECENT MEMORY) FINDING A PINK, LOW REFERENCE 5 VOLTS DC SIGNAL WIRE ...RUNNING IN BETWEEN THE BCM AND THE BATTERY VOLTAGE SENSOR... RUBBING THOUGH THEIR WIRE INSULATION, MAKING COPPER-TO-COPPER WIRE CONTACT WITH THE PURPLE STARTER SOLENOID 12 VOLTS DC WIRE AND ANOTHER YELLOW WIRE. THIS LOW REFERENCE VOLTAGE SIGNAL WIRE SHORT TO 12 VOLTS POSITIVE IS WHAT FRIED ALL THREE BCMS.

THIS SHORT-OUT HAPPENED INSIDE OF A *FAT ELEPHANT'S TRUNK WIRE BUNDLE* LAYING UNSECURED ACROSS THE TOP, DRIVER'S SIDE OF THE ENGINE 'WHERE' THEY WERE 'WORN' THROUGH RIGHT ON TOP OF AN EXPOSED ENGINE STUD STICKING UP LIKE A BARBER'S POLE. GRAVITY, ENGINE VIBRATIONS AND THE RESULTING FRICTION IN BETWEEN ARE THE CAUSE AND ORIGIN OF THIS ISSUE.,

THIS FRICTION CONTACT PUNCTURED THE UNDERSIDE OF THAT FAT HARNESS BLACK PLASTIC RIBBED SHEATHING AND THUS, COMPROMISED THE THREE WIRES AT ONE SPOT IN VERY CLOSE CONTACT WITH THAT STEEL STUD.

FINAL VERDICT?

A PINK, LOW REFERENCE 5 VOLT DC SIGNAL WIRE LEADING FROM THE UNDER-HOOD BATTERY SENSOR, THEN THROUGH THE FAT HARNESS AND ON BACK PAST THE FIREWALL LEADING TO THE UNDERSIDE DASH MOUNTED BCM *SHORTING OUT THE BCM PRINTED CIRCUIT BOARD AFTER PUTTING TO 12 VOLTS POSITIVE POWER THEREIN* .

THIS OCCURRED BY HAVING THE EXPOSED PINK WIRE TOUCHING AN EXPOSED PURPLE 12 VOLT DC STARTER WIRE VIA THEIR WORN-THROUGH INSULATION. ONCE ALL OF THE EXPOSED WIRES MADE MOMENTARY CONTACT DURING RANDOM KEY-ON IGNITION START UP SEQUENCES, THE POWER SURGES DESTROYED THE PCB INTERNALS OF ALL OF THOSE REPLACEMENT BCMS.
