6.2 earlier models OK? 2008,2009.

I've heard a few good things about them. Then started researching them and found all kinds of bad stuff.

Anyone have any first person experience with these? Good or bad?

Thinking about buying a Tahoe with the 6.2 but will stay with the 5.3 if the 6.2 is really as bad as I've been reading.

6.2 likely has AFM. What have you heard about the 6.2 and what year? Apart from AFM, it shouldn't be much different than the 6.0.

2008 and 2009 no AFM. I've seen horror stories of the 6.2 breaking rods and pistons. I just don't know if it's a common occurrence.

I would avoid the 6.2L. They just werent that great, Problems across the board, well I guess except for maybe the 2014. I hear that was an amazing year for them, but then you run into if you need to find parts, . . . might be hard to find if you going to a yard.

and honestly you arent giving up much by sticking with a 5.3
