2002 GMC Envoy 4.2L. Where the upper Upper radiator hose connects to the Head. There is a solenoid or switch screwed into the top. On my vehicle the pipe has corroded through and needs replacement. What is it called so I can look for the part?

I think he might be referring to that exhaust camshaft actuator solenoid, or the exhaust camshaft position sensor?

Why does it need replacement? If the device is "The CPAS" Camshaft Position Actuator Solenoid.... There are LOADS of interrelated GMTN Threads here abouts concerning its R&R (and Internal Screen Cleaning). The Three Power Steering Pump Fasteners will have to be completely removed as well as moving the PSP clear of that space so the Solenoid can the be removed and replaced... only if necessary. What are the Drive-ability Symptoms here?
