So I meant to start this thread a couple days ago but I've been super busy with the kids, work and a ton of other stuff.

The amp is a Hifonics Brutus. Brx2000.1D 2000w rms.
View attachment 34346

The subs are MTX thunder ts5512-44. 12" 600w rms 4ohms.

Head unit is my old Alpine cda-9856. Its ipod ready and I just purchased a arista stereo rca to 3.5 mm jack. I'll plug my phone in and be good to go.
View attachment 34349

I got some 0 gauge for the job. I plan on doing the big 3 as well.
View attachment 34350

My battery is a Optima red top. The last thing I'm waiting for is my box to arrive. Its a sealed two chamber wood box. Each chamber is 1.25 of airspace. Which is ideal for these subs.

I was gonna do some fiberglass for the box but all my time is going into remodeling my father n laws house he left us when he passed last year.

I'll post some picks along the way. I really want this stuff in my truck!! Well I'll catch up with you guys here in the near future!

Sounds like it's gonna be a sweet setup.

I'm still rocking my CDA-9857 since it's the only head unit that I've owned that doesn't skip.

Thanks May03lt!! Yea this deck will get me buy for awhile!

The first thing I'm going to upgrade next will be the door speakers and a small amp to power them. I have a Rockford fosgate 300w 2 channel amp in my girls car. :undecided: She would kill me! Then I think its gonna be high output alt.

What would you recommend for a good but not terriblely expensive set of 6.5" door speakers?

Man that's a tough call. Lots of good stuff out there.

What's your price range?
Are you looking for front and rear?
Also do you have the craptoryfactory bose system?

No Bose. I was gonna get two sets. One for each door. I was thinking for just grabbing some Kicker or Rockford Fosgate 6.5"

I've heard good stuff about Polk but I don't wanna drop another $200 just yet. But if its not that much of a difference I'll wait a lil longer and get the goods!!

So I plan on mounting my amp to the back of the seat. This amp is pretty heavy so what should I use for hardware?

The amps I've mounted in the past were small and I just use like half inch screws.

Standard coarse threaded pan head screws should work. Might have to go closer to an inch to get a good bite into the metal seat frame.

I'll share my experience to hopefully save you a potential issue - try to situate the amp in a way that all the mounting holes line up to equally flat portions of the seat. The seat frame(s) have funky hi/low spots. You can probably feel them just by running your hand along the seat. For my sub amp, no matter how I positioned it, one corner would hover over a low spot and wouldn't sit flat. I was worried that if I tightened down the screw on the offending corner it would bend the mount. I ended up making 3/4" mounting plates so that I could mount the plates to the seats and them mount the amps to the plates.

Sorry I missed your last reply. I'll hit you up tomorrow.

No problem no rush bro. Once again thanks for all the great advice!

My sub box is gonna be in on Friday and Thursday I should have most of the wiring done! I'm so excited!
I like the frame idea. I figured I wasn't gonna do the ole slap a lil screw in this one lol.

When I get it bumpin I'll post a video to for sure.

Ran the rca's and remote wire.

I think for now I'm gonna be forced to ground to the seat. My ring terminals are to small tho so I picked this up. Is it worth using? Its all I could find around town so far...

No crimper. I'm gonna go down to a actual stereo shop tomorrow and see what they have. That copper one is slightly to small also. Could probably make it work but its still raining outside so I'm done for the day.

I also picked this up too.View attachment 55468IMG_20140423_172806.jpg

Yeah sometimes I have to ream the hole a little to fit. If they have a bigger terminal, see if they can crimp it on for you. That amp is a beast and needs a solid ground.

So I went to get a wiring harness to connect the HU to the stock plug. They wanted $120 at the local shop and $110 for the GMOS unit. Fuck!!! What happened to $20??? So I'll be running a line out converter until I figure out what to do. I'm going to go check ebay also and see what I find...

Just have to mount the amp and hook it up!!

You can use the metra 70-2003. You'll lose chimes and RAP, but it will be a huge improvement over a LOC.

Well the subs are in! They fucking bump!! I'm gonna go easy on them for a week or so before I really thump em. As soon as I get this misfiring taken care of I'll make a video.

I just tapped fuse #29 under the rear fuse box for my remote wire. It was labeled "rain" i believe.

Since I powered up the system my HIDs flicker very badly until they come on which can take up to a few mins. But once their on they are fine?

Even with. The stereo off they have a hard time firing up now.

I have a DDM tuning kit with a relay harness. And the CAP mod.

My buddy helped me with th HIDs. I wanna say the lows are connected on the driveside. The extra connecters on the relays I just cut off if that makes sense. To be honest my buddy Did most of it...

Where was/is the relay harness's 12v input coming from? I'm trying to think of what could have changed and the only thing coming to mind right now is the 12v source.

The only thing I did was change the +battery teminal to the one in the pic above.

I'll check the relays and battery connections tomorrow.

I have never been a fan of DDM. I installed a kit on my wife's F-150 and had multiple issues right out of the box. Their "customer service" is garbage.

There isn't a connector (with wires) coming off of the 9856?

So my NEW amp will be here Monday!

audiosavings.com are the worst ever. I've had to bitch them out so many times. The amp was out of stock and on backorder directly from Hifonics until beginning of July.

I got back from vacation midway through July and it still hadn't showed up. I called and said WTF are you f%#k tards doing?

They said "it was damaged during shipping the corner is broke". I said "I don't give a Fuck I used YOUR return label that you tried to get me to pay for cough cough so get my damn amp in the mail or the next call I make will be to Ebay demanding a full refund because of this BS".

Let's just say my amp was in the mail that day! I hate company's that don't have there shit together and then treat the customer like an idiot and hope that works. Not me. Rant over!
