Guys,
My Silverado WT17 regular cab
Started to loose the needle reading.
Just a couple of hours ago I started it and the normal needle procedure on all the cluster works.

Goes all the way up and the set in the reading for rpm, temp , volts and all.
But the tank needle stayed like I was out of gas

But I don't see the warning on the LCD panel ,
No beeping , nothing .

Then after 2 mins driving it goes back to normal , then 5 mins after dead again.

It does it intermittent, no pattern.

I found this thread

In the 17 where are the cables going from the tank to the cluster in the dashboard.

Or goes to the PCM 1st?

The problem as described is very like NOT in either the Wiring OR the Dash Needle Gauge...but more so taking place in the Fuel Level Sending Unit portion of the Complete Fuel Pump Unit. If it comes down to cases ...and the Fuel Pump needs an R&R for replacing JUST the Sender portion of the Unit... You should consider replacing the entire thing... and use ONLY either an ACDelco or a BOSCH Fuel Pump.

If you get in on the Driver's Side of the Truck and give the word for a Strong Buddy to "GENTLY Rock the Vehicle" while on Level Ground...WITHOUT HIM LEAVING PERMANENT PALM DIVETS ALONG THE ROOF LINE OF THE SUV WHILE PUSHING IT SIDE TO SIDE!!! And with the KOEO... You should be Keeping a Sharp Eye and watching the Dashboard Fuel Gauge for any "Misbehavior". If you observe any sort of *jumping about* on that Dash Fuel Gauge... then this would be additional confirmation that The Fuel Level Sender down inside of the Fuel Tank very likely IS... The Culprit:

For GM and GMC Models of Vehicle up to around 2013... If you have access to a Tech 2 or a similar (Later Model Scan Tool) Bi-Directional Scan Tool...there are procedures for Activating the IPC Dashboard Gauges individually in order to test whether there is a problem there. However... generally...When the IPC Gauges GO OUT...they STAY Gone and do not behave with intermittence. The attached A-Z "Tech2 Diagnostic Paths" has the Instructions and procedures for doing this Test using a Tech 2 Scan Tool... but it will describe basically how these things are done:

For a 2017, we don't have much knowledge or experience with anything that recent. If you're not getting a low fuel warning light or message, I would normally suspect the stepper motor or as bad solder joint in the cluster. When you start the truck, do all the gauges do a full sweep and back before going to show the actual readings?
