Just thought it would be cool to see what it was that triggered everyone's first mod bug infestation. So what was the very first mod ever that you did to your truck when you bought it? Show your before and after pictures if you have them!

Mine was was removing the moulding and badges

:undecided: I guess I have a 2 part answer. I needed to get some help hooking up my subwoofers when I bought my TB, which led me to the OS.

Once I figured that out, I poked around just for fun, and saw some other mods people had done. Dome light LEDs caught my attention, and I think anyone can figure out what happened after that!

Its really cool seeing everyones first mods. It shows that even though us members have our platforms in common with each other, we are all very different in our tastes. If 2 people tinted windows as their first mods the tint % and look is different which is cool.

I don't post up much but i like this one!

Brush guard install: had to remove plastic fairing at bottom of bumper for bracket clearance. Mounting will be modified in the future.

Still haven't fixed the crappy mount yet though.

All of my mods are in my profile. I've got more mods up my sleeve right now than what I know what to do with.

De-molded - First mod and very happy with it.

First mod was tint the rear windows like factory, and installed remote start/locks. Because my truck was more stock than plain Jane stock. Well maybe I should count that the dealer installed cruise control before I'd take it off the lot because it didn't even have that!

My first mod was a rear hitch bumper ( for the peeps that like to get distracted by their phone while at the red lights and letting of the gas ) also the front license plate bracket ( just had two holes drilled in bumper that was ugly )

I LOVE that hitch bumper!!! I don't think it would look as good on my truck as it does yours though.

My very first mod was LED lights in the inside of my car and my quad HIDs (all done at the same time.
downsize.jpg

1208102146.jpg

These aren't very bright and I just finished all my stereo so the next paycheck is going to replacing all of these with some super bright ones  and also replacing my high beam ballast for my HIDs

...and since then i have added switchbacks in my front turns, redid my whole audio system twice put LEDs in all the turns in the rear and license plate, took the roof rack off and debadged..that mod bug really gets ya:rotfl:

Tint the windows.

And that was supposed to be the only mod...

I'm fairly certain it was the tint. Only cost me about $75 and I matched the rear windows....little too dark for evening driving but not too bad. Comes with a short story:

About a month after I had the tint installed, ( mid 2003) the soon to be wifey and I were going to the mall to work on the gift registry.

We were on the local interstate (I66) and as usual it's fairly congested especially on a Sat afternoon. There was a state popo in the far left lane and I was about 50 yards back in the center lane. I floored it for a second and the fiance' said.."yeah right" I said...."He don't want none of this"

About 10 seconds later the car in front of the cop slowed and I went by the cop (at the speed limit or just a tick over) and I saw "her" take a double-take at my car.

She pulled behind me and lit me up, fiance' said....."see". I said..."I'm sure it's for the tint". Sure enough, she walked up with her tint meter and now my tint is worth about $150, incl court costs.
Knock on wood, still no issues to date.

IIRC, the first mod to my 03 EXT was an airaid CAI and TB spacer.
did not find the OS unil after i had my 09 and found out the TB spacer was a waste of money.
on the 09, first mod was res. delete and tip. (within a week of picking it up)
then the k & n, then Cheap Quads & Fogs, then ........................... it's never ending.

I was going to the desert for a rip-snorting mud bath that ended up poorly. So I wasted $500 on aftermarket LIGHTED running boards. Thought they were mandatory for offroading. Turns out they were forbidden. Ooops.

K&N air filter then turn signal mirrors on my 02, started in 05 and has since seen just a few small changes. :rotfl: (yea I lol'ed at myself typing this.)

Day I brought the SS home I installed the aux adapter I bought for the 02 that didnt work with 02s + cd changer. Then not sure, might be Weathertech floor liners all around.

Ok I'll be serious on his post.
On my 06 envoy 1st "mod" was removing the roof rack.

Then on my 07 tbSS I removed the badges and such.

No pics tho.

I replaced the head unit and the rear door speakers (rear left was non-functional).
Second was quad beam headlights.
Third was running board removal.
LED tails was next.
Headlights should be next if I ever get them done.

The truck came with the rust mod already. It was mostly hidden with only a few small spots visible.

IIRC, my first mod was the PCM4less tune right after I installed the replacement engine. Reason was because I still had my previous truck ('00 Jimmy) so I could continue using it while the TB was without its PCM and didn't need a loaner.

1st thing I did was CAF. I read my manual front to back, couldn't find any reference to it, went online searching and found the OS....

I never thought I would do anything else, but found Weathertech's cheap, now my PCM4 PCM is here waiting on install, just about to order my custom caliper covers, ghost lights still intriguing, and I still love the look of the Ground Effects front fascia on these...I guess I'm bitten ;-)

The first major mod was being the guinea pig for Redline Tuning for the hood struts for the GM360 line of vehicles. This is one of the best mods out there. I always hated having to dodge the prop rod when I was working under the hood. This was my 03 TB. i also have a set on my 07 TB.

I can't find a stock picture of my truck right now, but everyone knows what a stock Envoy looks like anyway.

My first mods happened at the same time, removed the rack, door moldings, and badges. I also added a front billet grill.
