What is this thing on the glass near the rear view mirror?

Is there something missing or is it the actual sensor itself?

Is that solid plastic? The ones I've seen were a solid disc. There would be a wire coming from it, going up into the bundle inside the overhead console.

It used to be for the Rainsense system...someone broke it.

OK, I had no idea what it was. I figured it was from the factory because it looks to have those black dotted markings on the glass like the factory sun shade does. There are definitely no wires leading to it now, oh well. Thanks everyone.
