What goes here that the mechanic didn’t put back ?

This is a pic facing the truck , passenger side. 2 empty copper bolt clips .... whatever it was they took it off when they did the crank pulley seal.

There's a plate there, dunno what it's for, I had to undo one bolt and pivot it out of the way when swapping my radiator last year to get good clearance for the tranny cooler lines.

This is just 'The Icing on The Cake':

The reason for this 'Odd Little Shield' (highlighted in Red with its Two Fasteners) is because the Radiant Heat coming off of the Catalytic Converter CANNOT BE STOPPED by the passing convection of cooling air moving across those lines as the SUV drives forward. If the Shield is left off, that Heat will continuously get added into the Transmission Cooling Pipes and partially defeat their reason for trying to get the heat OUT of the 4l60E in the first place:

the one in blkshdw's pic looks familiar and is definitely what is missing, northcreeks doesnt have the big flange where it bolts on....

Same part # 15766372, probably a production change, flange size shouldn't matter.
Here's another picture of the same part.
