Phase 3 plan expanded, I bought some cheap shop lights and after installing the first couple I decided to alter the plan and built a mobile work bench (can be lined up with the table saw when cutting larger boards) so built the work bench this weekend, also salvaged some casters off of the crappy cabinet this replaced to use on the first cart and second cart is built awaiting casters.

well, I altered my design plan a bit, got a letter the other day that the bamboo flooring I have is part of a class action lawsuit against lumber liquidators with people saying it can't handle normal humidity so i'm hesitant to get it glued down to the slab and considering the labor cost for install if I can find a click/lock style floor I can probably buy that floor for the cost to have this glued down, so i'll repurpose the current flooring as like a feature wall or something. In the mean time I decided since i'm gonna change the flooring that now is as good a time as any to rethink the layout and so to that end I tore out the partial infill wall and door to the left of the entertainment center in my earlier photos and built a new wall that now just closes off the bottom of the stair and opens the remainder of the basement up to my space, the plan is now to build a wall that runs parallel to the new wall I just built but on the other side of the opening I opened back up and then run a wall perpendicular to those 2 walls (the one I built and the parallel one yet to be built) that comes across where the blue wall to the right of the new wall is, this will create a small walk-in closet and an office with a hallway between the stair and the office (can't be a bedroom because no window).

Side note, you guys finally get to see just how low the original drop ceilings where since I haven't ripped them out on this side of the basement yet.

Update: Been busy with other projects like rebuilding the subwoofer box for the trailblazer and building and installing a box in the Civic. But an update on the House is finally happening, getting a parking pad poured so we have extra off street parking, bringing a sidewalk down the side of the house so you don't have to walk in the grass to go down to the basement outside of the house and going from a tiny little width of the doors by 4-5 feet deep concrete stoop to a full on concrete patio outside the basement. Also since the concrete sidewalk going to the front porch keeps sinking we are having a ramp poured up to the front porch. Pouring is scheduled for Tuesday Morning because that was the soonest they could line up a pumping truck to come in the morning to pour the hillside sidewalk and basement patio.

Concrete was poured last Wednesday, Rain started Friday (shortly after forms where pulled) and continued all weekend (good for Curing from what i've read), here is a shot from the pour and some from the next day, already laying out the plans for the patio (when Lumber Prices come back down) and addressing some water management that i've been ignoring but doing the concrete work made it the time to handle it.

Got my lights all strung up, eventually i'm going to remove the light fixture the string is plugged into and relocate the plug to a new outlet above the door. Next phase is once lumber prices come down I'm gonna build a roof under the deck (above the lights) so when it rains the area stays relatively dry.

Well with Lumber Prices continuing to be stupid i've been focusing on landscaping, this has been my latest project. Did the Cedar Split Rail Fence (only about a $170 all in on the fence), did a flag pole, installed some Black Chain Link Fence Top Rail's as posts to support the tension wire for the string lights and planted a couple new trees, the one closest to the Bush by the mail box is an Apple tree that has 5 different species of Apples Grafted onto it, the smaller one heading downhill (only seen in the nighttime shot) is a Pear tree that again is a 5 in 1 and the smallest little tree at the very bottom is a Black Diamond Crape Myrtle, not sure what the tall tree between the Pear and Crape Myrtle is, it was down where I had the concrete poured last year and we moved it up here to save it.

I'm working on establishing the property line with the neighbor, found the front corner pin and think i've ID'ed the rear marker but need to confirm it, then I will be installing some baby (about 2 foot tall) Leyland Cypruss trees intermixed with a couple sections of the Cedar Split Rail Fence going down the property line. More on that later once I have the weekend to work on that.

Long time no see everyone, got some things going on, will make a different post about that. Anyway I realized I never posted any pics of the "fence" also attached is a picture of what that tiny little "bush" in the picture 20210527_141701 from a few weeks ago, that thing is a freaking rocket, never seen anything grow so fast. Also the Leyland Cypress Trees planted between the sections of fence are almost as tall as the fence now.
