Can we get a montage of a few of the vehicles covered in this forum? The logo we have now is just so plain. I notice it more and more everytime I login. Anything would be better than nothing. I believe it would be a good investment.

We had trouble over on the OS with people who owned vehicles other than the Trailblazer and Envoy not liking the logo. They felt as though they were being excluded. If we only select a few vehicles for a logo, there will be those who will object to their vehicle not being included. And trying to make a logo with all of the vehicles wouldn't be practical. 
(And then there's all of the people who have already purchased logo decals to put on their vehicles)

I like the logo. Like you said, it's all inclusive. What i would like to see is some sort of pdf document posted somewhere on the site which could be printed out by memebers and used as marketing material. Sometimes I see a bad a$$ truck in a parking lot and wish i had a flyer or something to stick under a wiper. We wouldnt want to spam everyone with these, just people we think might be interested in learning or contributing to a community like ours. wouldnt have to be too extensive, just maybe the logo and a short sentence like "A community for....blah blah blah enthusiests". There, i just depleted my extensive creativity pool for the day. might as well wrap it up here and head home.

My only wondering would be is my decal being associated with GM Trucks, or with so many tribes and Casinos in the area, is my decal being seen as Nation's advertising 
Doesn't bother me, nor could I care less, but do wonder. I do wish my decal has the tire tread like the website logo though.

We can certainly revisit this, in 5 years or so. To much went into getting this one up and going, along with shirts, stickers and branding to get rid of it this soon.

The logo is cool, But can't we have every month or so a voting on coolest picture taken by one person or a couple of people? That way we have something up there next to GMTNation and all? Gives a opportunity for people to be fun with there creativity with anything that want that involves there GMT in the background or something like that

I have no idea what you had in mind for the logo change, but sprucing up the top of the forum page isn't a bad idea.

The logo is good. In my mind, what is making it look plain is the fact that it only occupies 10% of the banner, with the remaining 90% being a pale blue gradual-fade.
The logo should either take more prominance in the banner area, or more content should be added. Photos of owners truck is a good idea. Anything to add content to the banner without looking cluttered or distracting from the logo itself.
Out of curiousity, who was the designer of the logo..??

But, I would also like to see some life added to the header. Here is just an idea, like what was stated before; integrating a contest winner photo into it.
And the other, with a vehicle from all the platforms (I glanced and did the few most common ones. If we went this route we should have a contest for each platform; change it twice a year?) i just quickly grabbed the ones other than my own from google.

In my research, it looks like most VS acquisitions were one-time payments for smaller sites, and possible consulting/employment arrangements for larger ones like pirate4x4. I'm sure Vertical Scope ad money is not going to either of the two former owners of trailvoy. And Tommy, the founder, wasn't at all involved in the subsequent VS sale, so he's as clean as the driven snow.
If I was selling out to folks with a tainted reputation, I don't think I'd take payments. The stench of the money would be a permanent reminder enough of my perfidy.

Well I am trying to send people over here and trying to get them aquainted with the website but all they see is a GMT NATION logo at the top of the screen. That alone doesn't really speak to the guest what this forum is about. Pictures speak a million words. For instance if you own a pool forum you put pictures of pools in the banner. Seems like common sense to me. We need some of those vehicle pics up there on the top to go along.

Personally, i would love to see a rotating banner with a TOTM. Or even a top three. To me, t still feels like we are operating in beta mode with just the logo. This would also be a nice way to have some community involvement. It would also give the forum a more distinct identity.
