Hi All just a warning for anyone buying replacement speakers from eBay. I purchased Skar Audio 6.5" TX series speakers that were advertised as for 2002-2009 GMC Envoy. They even supply adapters for the GM speaker plugs so you don't have to cut/splice/solder anything.
These don't really fit!
The diameter is about 1/4-3/8 too large so they don't fit into the plastic mounting bezels that attach to the doors. I used a 130W solder gun with a cutting attachment to cut/melt a pile of plastic out of the way and make the opening bigger and then found out the mounting holes for the screws didn't match either so I had to grind away some of the metal frame of the speaker to get the mounting screws in.
What should have been a half hour swapping four speakers turned into 3+ hours of messy modification. Can it be done? Yes. But there must be better speakers available that just fit properly without all this fuss.
If you're thinking of buying Skar speakers you may want to think twice.
