Has anyone on here had to disconnect their long tubes on a v8? I need to pull my y pipe to fix my bad welds and my cat in my y pipe won't clear the cross member. I'm curious if once the headers are detached how much they can drop in the engine bay or pull forward for clearance

If anyone else ever finds themselves in the same situation I was able to unbolt the driver header, pull the header as far forward as i could, and then twist and pull the y pipe from the back. It cleared so now time to fix my bad prior welds, I've done more homework and see where I went wrong, and then to weld out some broken exhaust manifold bolts in the head.
